Job Summary

The Commercial Marketing Lead will bridge marketing and sales to drive business growth across both foodservice and retail channels. This role combines strategic planning with on-ground execution, ensuring that marketing campaigns, pricing schemes, and activations directly support commercial objectives. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, creative, and hands-on, capable of playing a leadership role withing the marketing team while collaborating closely with sales and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Marketing & Activations
  • Plan and manage tastings, sampling campaigns, chef demonstrations, and in-store activations.
  • Develop POS materials and ensure effective brand visibility across retail and supermarket channels.
  • Evaluate campaign performance, tracking ROI and sales uplift from marketing activities.
Commercial Marketing & Pricing
  • Design and implement pricing schemes, bundles, and promotions in coordination with the sales team.
  • Support product launches and seasonal campaigns with relevant marketing materials.
  • Develop catalogs, sell sheets, and B2B communication tools that enable the sales team to succeed.
Marketing Strategy & Team Leadership
  • Lead and support the marketing team (digital marketing, offline activities, design, etc.).
  • Align Emkay Foods’ brand positioning with commercial objectives, ensuring consistency across B2B and retail communications.
  • Build marketing calendars tied to business priorities (moving excess stock, highlighting key product categories, supporting expos and events).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure marketing plans are feasible and aligned with overall business strategy.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and partners for joint promotions, events, and campaigns.
  • Leverage customer insights and market trends to refine campaigns and pricing strategies.
Market Research & Product Insights
  • Conduct ongoing market research to track trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and pricing benchmarks across both foodservice and retail channels.
  • Identify opportunities for growth (new categories, product gaps, under-served customer segments).
  • Provide data-driven insights to guide product development and R&D teams, ensuring new products are aligned with market demand, competitive positioning, and achievable target costs.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and product teams to evaluate feasibility of new product introductions and to optimize existing offerings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 6–10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a trade marketing or commercial marketing role (FMCG, food distribution, or retail preferred).
  • Strong understanding of B2B and retail marketing dynamics.
  • Proven ability to design and execute on-ground activations and measure ROI.
  • Solid knowledge of pricing, promotions, and trade schemes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
