Job Summary

Managing Emkay Foods’ warehouses as a critical part of the supply chain—ensuring stock accuracy, cost efficiency, and reliable service to customers and internal stakeholders. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for safe and compliant storage, efficient inbound and outbound operations, minimizing waste and losses, and building a high-performing team culture that reflects Emkay Foods’ commitment to quality, value, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving Operations
  • Supervise receipt of incoming shipments, primarily frozen meats and food products.
  • Verify quantities, specifications, and temperatures against purchase orders.
  • Ensure vehicles and unloading practices meet food safety and quality standards.
Storage & Inventory Management
  • Organize products across freezer rooms and dry storage for optimal use of space.
  • Monitor and record freezer/cold storage temperatures daily, ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and set clear reorder points to support demand.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure refrigeration equipment functionality.
  • Utilize ERP/WMS systems and barcode/RFID technology for tracking and forecasting.
  • Implement contingency plans for cold chain disruptions, power outages, and overstock.
  • Conduct cycle counts and manage stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO).
  • Oversee handling equipment (forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks) and their maintenance.
  • Manage reverse logistics for returns, damaged goods, and waste.
  • Prepare for and lead regulatory inspections and government audits.
Dispatch & Distribution
  • Supervise picking and loading of outbound orders with accuracy and speed.
  • Verify dispatch against documents and ensure product integrity until delivery.
  • Maintain high order fulfillment accuracy and on-time dispatch rates.
Control & Stocktaking
  • Oversee regular and annual stock counts.
  • Investigate and report discrepancies in inventory.
  • Ensure all movements (inbound, outbound, returns, waste) are recorded in ERP.
Team Management
  • Lead and develop a warehouse team of storekeepers, forklift operators, and workers.
  • Allocate shifts, assign tasks, and monitor productivity.
  • Train staff in food safety, occupational safety, and handling procedures.
  • Build a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mentor potential successors within the team.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Implement and maintain HACCP/ISO food safety standards.
  • Maintain warehouse hygiene and prevent contamination risks.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety laws.
  • Coordinate with the Quality team for inspections and corrective actions.
  • Guarantee compliance with all local regulations related to food storage and handling.
Reporting, KPIs & Continuous Improvement
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on inventory, wastage, and efficiency.
  • Track and improve KPIs such as inventory accuracy, shrinkage %, order fulfillment rate, and warehouse utilization.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements, cost reductions, and digitization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Production to align inventory with forecasts and ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7–10 years in warehouse management, with at least 3 in food/frozen products.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certifications (a plus): HACCP certification; APICS CPIM/CSCP; HSE/IOSH/NEBOSH safety training.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of cold and frozen storage systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems (Odoo experience is an advantage).
  • Ability to design and monitor KPI dashboards.
  • Expertise in stock control, cycle counts, and audit preparation.
  • Familiarity with handling equipment and warehouse automation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Solid analytical and reporting abilities.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, ISO, and HSE standards.
